The Breedon Aggregates Lions Promoter David Hemsley announced at the club’s end of season dinner dance last night that Magnus Karlsson and Jan Graversen have agreed to race for Leicester in 2012.
Karlsson joined Leicester in July and on his debut against Sheffield made an immediate impact after winning all six of his races. The former Under-21 Swedish international ended the year with the highest match average in the team and next season the Beaumont Park Stadium will host Karlsson’s testimonial meeting.
Promoter David Hemsley said: “We are delighted that Magnus has agreed to spend a second term with us and his inclusion in the team was part of the reason why we ended our first year on a winning streak. I wish to place on record my thanks to the promoter of his parent club Rob Godfrey of the Scunthorpe Scorpions who has allowed me to open negotiations with Magnus for the extension of the loan agreement arrangement that existed between ourselves and Scunthorpe”.
During the course of the season which saw many changes to the team Jan Graversen retained his place in the side and rode in all forty-eight fixtures, scoring over 300 total points in all competitions. Hemsley added: “Jan is a model professional and a credit to Leicester Speedway. He produced many outstanding performances in support of our three heat leaders and I had no hesitation in offering Jan a position in the team for next year. Both signings are of course subject to approval by the British Speedway Promoters Association”.
